This policy says what you may and may not do with email-validation.org. It is part of the Terms of Service. Report abuse to abuse@email-validation.org; a person reviews every report.
Lists you may check
You may validate addresses that you collected lawfully and have a legitimate reason to contact or keep, such as your customers, subscribers, sign-up forms and business contacts who gave you their address.
What is not allowed
- Checking addresses that were scraped from websites, bought, rented or harvested, or that you have no lawful basis to process.
- Using results to send unsolicited bulk email, or to help anyone else do so.
- Guessing or generating addresses to find out which ones exist.
- Creating several accounts, or using disposable addresses, to collect free credits more than once.
- Repeatedly checking addresses you know will not give a definite answer, or otherwise trying to get work done without being charged.
- Sharing, reselling or embedding your API key in software that others can read, such as browser code or mobile apps.
- Probing, scanning or load-testing the service, or trying to get around rate limits, bot checks or access controls.
- Uploading files that contain malware or data you are not allowed to share with us.
- Breaking any law, including privacy, anti-spam and consumer protection laws.
What we do about misuse
Depending on what happened, we may slow down requests, pause bulk jobs, revoke API keys, hold free credits for review, or suspend or close the account. Where the law requires it, we may report illegal activity. Credits used in breach of this policy are not returned.
