Accessibility statement
We build email-validation.org to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement says how we work towards that, where we still fall short, and how to tell us about a problem.
What we do
- Pages use semantic HTML with landmarks, one H1, a skip link and labelled navigation.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring that has at least 3:1 contrast.
- Text meets at least 4.5:1 contrast in both the light and the dark theme.
- Result statuses are never shown by colour alone: each has an icon, a text label and a sentence.
- Results and errors are announced to screen readers through live regions.
- Animations stop when your system asks for reduced motion, and the site works in forced-colours mode.
- Pages reflow at 320 pixels wide and at 400% zoom; only data tables and code samples scroll sideways, inside their own boxes.
- Sign-in needs no memory or puzzle test: email codes can be pasted, and passkeys and Google work too.
Known limitations
- The bot check on some forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) is a third-party widget. If it asks for a challenge you cannot complete, sign in with Google or a passkey instead.
- The payment form is provided by Stripe inside a frame, and we cannot change its markup.
- We test with keyboard navigation and automated checks, but we have not yet had an independent audit with assistive technology users.
